Dental technology

One of the many ways we ensure your comfort at Dental Designs is by giving you access to the most advanced dental technology. With tools such as digital radiographs (X-rays), DIAGNOdent, and intraoral cameras, you can rest assured that your diagnosis and treatment will be both efficient and effective. You will be amazed at the ways technology makes your visits to us seem so fast and easy!

Digital Radiographs (X-rays)

Digital radiographs give your Dental Designs team instant, accurate images of your teeth and of the supportive structures of your teeth to use in diagnosis. In the past, you would have to wait for traditional radiographs to be developed. Then, the resulting film required a significant amount of space to be stored. Digital radiographs can be stored electronically in our computer system and recalled at any time in the future. You receive more efficient dental care, plus digital radiographs use less radiation than traditional radiographs.

Air Abrasion

Air abrasion is a new filling preparation technique that is an alternative to dental drilling. This tool sends a blast of air that contains tiny aluminum oxide particles. The effect is similar to sand-blasting, but on an almost microscopic scale. The decay is removed quickly and comfortably, leaving behind healthy tooth structure to cover with a dental filling.

DIAGNOdent™

The DIAGNOdent™ is a special, diagnostic laser that helps your Dental Designs team member see decay or areas of concern that would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye. It allows your dental team to use less invasive treatment to halt and even reverse the decay. Preventive dentistry is always the best option, and DIAGNOdent™ is one of many tools we use to emphasize this philosophy.

Intraoral Cameras

Imagine learning about your dental health and your treatment options by seeing your own teeth on a chairside monitor. This is now possible with our intraoral camera. Your Dental Designs team member or doctor can show you exactly what we see in your mouth. You can ask questions and can begin to visualize yourself with a new, healthy smile!
